Part 141 approved Course

    • 165 hours FAA Ground School (PPL, IR, CPL/ME)
    • 135.5 hours Single Engine aircraft trainer
    • 25.5 hours Multi-Engine aircraft trainer
    • 36 hours Flight Training Device
    • 1.5 hours Single Engine aircraft trainer (UPRT)

    The course is 38-40 weeks in duration.


    The fee for the Commercial Pilot License course is $74,500.

    • CAE’s aviation English language pre-course module

    In addition, students, can expect to invest approximately $150 before the training starts for a Medical exam and about $450 for Selection testing.


    You need to meet the following criteria to apply to the CPL – Phoenix:

    • All foreign applicants must have a valid passport and be eligible to hold a M-1 visa to the United States if required
    • 18 years of age or over to start training
    • Completed secondary education (high school), ideally achieving a pass in English, Mathematics and Physics
    • Proficient in the English language (will be tested during the assessment phase)
    • Capable of holding a Class 1 Pilot Medical
    • Previous flying experience is not required
    • Successfully complete and pass the assessment process for your preferred training program


    • Stage 1 – application is screened against the eligibility criteria for the course. Eligible candidates will be contacted and invited to book online to attend stage 2. There is a $200 USD fee paid online at the time of booking.
    • Stage 2 – will be completed in one day and is a computer-based assessment, called ADAPT. The following areas will be assessed:
      • Pilot aptitude and spatial awareness
      • Academic, mathematical and technical capacity
      • A multiple-choice test of technical reasoning
      • A dynamic multi-tasking test; hand/eye co-ordination and motor skills
      Successful candidates, who achieve the required standard as determined by CAE, will be notified by email and invited to attend Stage 3. There is a $250 USD fee paid online at the time of booking.
    • Stage 3 – will be a competency based interview with CAE

    Final selection is determined by CAE and candidates are advised within 96 hours of completing the assessment process.


    Prior to enrolling on one of our Programs, you must possess a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate. This can be obtained from the Civil Aviation Authority in your home country or if not available in the United States at an approved FAA medical examiner.

    The Medical Examination Includes:

    • Review of your medical history
    • Hearing and vision tests
    • Lung function and heart tests
    • Blood and urine analysis
    • General physical examination
